Board Member
Co-Chair of the Student Special Interest Group (SIG) on the Massachusetts School Library Association Executive Board, 2006-2007. Attended board meetings, held student meetings, and acted as liaison between the parent organization and the student chapter of the MSLA. Student Group Wiki

Conference Coordinator
Along with my MSLA SIG Co-Chair, created, planned, organized and carried out the First Annual Student School Library Conference, which was held at Simmons College on March 24, 2007. The conference held eight speakers, a keynote address, and lunchtime panel, and focused on the transition from library student to library teacher.

Awards
Recipient of the first Beta Phi Mu, Beta Beta Chapter Student Book Award, given to “an exceptional student in the Graduate School of Library and Information Science, Simmons College” who consistently held a grade point average above 3.7 and who demonstrated a dedication to service.

Professional Development
During my time as a library student, I have attended:

Children’s Literature Lectures and Discussions, presented through the Foundation for Children’s Book, and other sources

I am also planning on attending the ALA Annual Conference in Washington D.C. this summer, and am very excited about this opportunity!

During my time as a library student, I worked as a volunteer with:

The Massachusetts Center for the Book’s “Letters About Literature” Program
Edward Devotion K-8 School in Brookline, MA, 2005-2006 school year.
